Character History: Cadence Cult Grimaldi was born as Cadence Audrey Barker in the late 1800's in Lockerbie, Scotland. The middle child, she always got out of trouble by either blaming her older brother, Jude, or her younger sister, Hanna. Even though she blamed them for everything, she loved her siblings and favored having a good relationship with them, so she always made up for whatever she did to get them in trouble.
When she was eighteen, however, her happiness was cut short when she couldn't sleep one night and decided to take a walk. She lost her sense of direction after a while and wandered, lost, around the streets of Lockerbie. She was making her way across a rickety bridge that was suspended over a drop of about thirty or forty feet when she heard a huge crack, had the brief feeling that she was tumbling down into darkness, and then nothing.
Then, all she remembered was the burning. That was the only thing that she could seem to grasp. The burning was the closest thing she had to reality, so she waited through it. When the pain began to subside, she started to be able to hear again, but she didn't hear anyone talking. The only sound she could hear was the frantic beating of her heart. Then, it was quiet, and she opened her eyes
She traveled the world for a long time. too long for her to keep track of. Finally, she settled down with the Grimaldis.
Character Appearance: As a basic characteristic of vampires, Cadence is quite beautiful. Her animals-only diet gives her eyes the oddest gold colour: like liquid topaz that changes to a deep ocher as her thirst grows. Her hair is a light chestnut colour, and cascades down past her shoulders in loose curls.
Though Cady loves dressing up, she's also quite fond of the classic jeans-and-a-tee-shirt look. She goes through style phases, and shops according to those.
Strengths: speed, strength, agility, intelligence, understanding, manipulative
Weaknesses stubborn, doesn't voice her opinions, has a horrid temper
Power: illusion casting
Personality: quiet, bubbly, insightful.
RP sample: as Leah Clearwater
Celebrity Claim: Emmy Rossum

The water was black and intimidating, but strangely calm. It was drizzling. Not that the rain was anything new. Quite the contrary, actually. It would only be a strange day if it wasn't raining. A few random birds could be heard, calling from the trees. It wasnt a cheerful sound, those birds' calls. Quite the opposite, actually. those common birds seemed to be singing out the sorrow of the small, nineteen year old girl that walked along the beach.
A rather large amount of sand flew through the air, some settling in the water, some blending back with the rest of the sand. Out of frustration, Leah Clearwater picked up her foot to kick the sand again, but stopped. This was stupid and childish. If her family saw her carrying on like an angry little child, they, 'they' meaning 'Seth', might never let her live it down. So the small Quileute Indian resorted to other measures.
Spotting a large rock about ten or fifteen feet from where she stood, Leah picked up her pace and reched the rock in a matter of seconds. Then, she did something that surprised even herself. Leah Colombia Clearwater, strong, fearless Quileute, sat on the rock, put her head in her hands and cried. It had been too much, seeing the love of her life with someone else. Especially since that someone else was her cousin and former best friend, Emily Young.
She didn't understand why she was crying now. She'd seen them together many a time. She hadn't even cried when he broke up with her. All she did was put on a brave face, sucked it up, and tried to go about her business as usual.
When the tears stopped long enough for her to open her eyes, she took one look at her light green skirt and let out a little frustrated squeal. Of course all of her eyeliner and whatnot had come off on the skirt. It wasn't like she had been wearing that much, but there was no way she could explain this to her mother without her finding out that her daughter wasn't as tough as she made out to be. Leah was determined to never let Sue know that. She would remain the same, strong Leah. The one who never let anything bother her.
This Leah, the one who cried on rocks at the beach because her ex boyfriend was issing her cousin and who let's little, stupid things get to her, this Leah is something that she planned on keeping to herself. She was going to keep this to herself.
With a little sigh, she stood up and walked slowly down the beach. Barefoot, she let the chilly water wash over her toes. It wasn't pleasant, but nothing really was anymore. Sometimes Leah wondered if her ancestors or God or whatever superior being that was out there was playing some sort of horribly cruel joke on her. Every single good thing that had been brought into her life had been snatched away too quickly for her to see it coming. Sam had been gone in a matter of seconds: just long enough to look her cousin in the eyes and imprint. Stupid werewolf impulse. All her chances of being normal disappeared when she first phased. Another stupid werewolf impulse.
She looked up at the sky, not caring if anyone saw and thought she was mental, and shouted to whoever was up there. "Damn it, do you enjoy torturing me? Is this some kind of sick little game to you? Well, you know what? I refuse to play! That's right. I quit. I resign. I will not pass 'Go'. I will not collect two hundred dollars. I nominate Emily to play instead. Maybe a little reality check to what I'm going through will pull her stupid head down from the stupid clouds and she'll realize why I hate her now." She was really ranting now, and she knew it. Do you know something else? I revoke everything. and that includes being a part of Sam's little gang, as so many kids are calling it. That's all. I'm through. I'm done."
"I am done." she whispered, more to herself than anyone who had witnessed her outburst, her voice cracking as she fought against a fresh flow of tears.
There was a simple reason that she didn't notice the bloodsucker coming up behind her, and that was the fact that she wasn't breathing. It had always helped her not to cry when she was younger, so she gave it a shot. Unfortunately, that meant that it nearly scared her out of her wits when a pair of freezing cold hands touched her arm. As a reflex, she sucked in a huge breath, and immediately coughed it back up.
Ugh. Vampire stink. It was burning her super sensitive nostrils and the back of her throat, making it nearly impossible to choke in air. Suddenly, the word vampire registered in her mind and she stiffened. Trying to remember how to phase.
”My love, what is the matter? You seem distraught.”
Leah forced herself to calm down; she must be having convulsions by now. "What concern is it to you?" she managed to choke out, though she wasn't able to stifle the low growl that followed the question.
